Welcome to the new blog...bigger, faster, and now with 23% more words!

In moving roles away from pursuing the position of missionary with Awana, I felt it better to start a new blog.  Fresh, green, and uncluttered.  This one will be more me, more personal, and more every day stuff.  Expect lots of Jesus, lots of our journeys racing BMX all over, and a little bit of humor and possibly some confusion mixed in.

Hang on tight, it could get a little bumpy!

Starting Over....Kinda

A little over a year and a half ago my wife and I began a journey.... God called us to start the process of becoming Awana missionaries here in Arkansas. We did the doctrinal stuff, the psych eval, went to headquarters to learn how to raise support.  Awana did a great job getting us ready to start.  Prayerfully, we intended to make it on the ground as soon as possible to start helping to make an eternal impact on the lives/souls of children.  Now, over a year in, we feel that God has said our journey there has ended.  In the time that has past, we have learned an enormous amount about what it takes to follow God, no questions asked, just follow.  I was afraid when it seemed to be ending that if I said we were done, we would be letting God down.  It's never a good thing to say "no" to THE MAN.  But after meeting with our pastor, Awana's lead missionary to Arkansas, and tons of prayer, we feel that we are not letting God down.  In the words of our pastor, saying no is a matter of where the heart is.  If God has truly said it's time to move on, and our hearts are still ready and willing, that's a lot different than "no."  With that said, we have let the role of Awana missionary go.  There is still plenty of fertile ground whether or not we are "on staff" with Awana.  There have already been a few possibilities come up for further ministry....and we are open to whatever God asks of us.

Please pray that we stay in God's will and that we remain open to whatever it is that he calls us to do.
